As part of the Design-Build team, Preston Pipelines played a key role in the revitalization and expansion of Kresge College at UC Santa Cruz, an effort aimed at increasing campus capacity while enhancing accessibility, sustainability, and long-term durability. The project included the demolition and reconstruction of seven buildings utilizing prefabricated components and mass timber floor systems to support modern, environmentally conscious design. A new 35,000-square-foot academic building now serves multiple departments and includes faculty offices, multipurpose classrooms, study lounges, a high-tech computer lab, and a 600-seat lecture hall.
Preston Pipelines’ scope of work included the installation of all new underground wet utilities, such as storm drain, sanitary sewer, domestic water, fire water, recycled water, and a nonpotable water system. Our team also installed an NPWT (Non-Potable Water Treatment) room and stormwater harvesting infrastructure to support the college’s environmental goals.
