Preston Pipelines was part of the Design-Build team expanding the capacity of the UC Santa Cruz campus and improving Kresge College’s accessibility, durability, and environmental performance. Seven buildings were demolished and reconstructed using prefabricated building components and techniques and a mass timber floor structure. A new 35,000-square-foot academic building will house multiple departments and faculty offices. The student and faculty community will benefit from multipurpose classrooms, study lounges, a state-of-the-art computer lab, and a 600-person lecture hall.

Preston Pipelines’ scope of work consisted of the installation of new underground wet utilities, including storm drain, sanitary sewer, domestic water, fire water, recycled water, and installation of a nonpotable water system, including an NPWT room and storm rainwater harvesting structures.
