Completed in January 2019, the S-153 SEPA Sewer Pump Station and Force Main project significantly expanded wastewater conveyance capacity for the City of Elk Grove. Acting as general contractor, Preston Pipelines delivered a comprehensive infrastructure solution that included construction of deep wet wells, pump installation, electrical and control systems, force main construction, and associated roadway improvements.
Key project elements included excavation to depths of 48 feet for wet wells and 36 feet for sewer manholes, installation of 100 linear feet of 30-inch vitrified clay pipe at depths reaching 34 feet, and more than 5,200 linear feet of 16-inch ductile iron force main. The system was equipped with a variety of appurtenances and controls to support long-term operational reliability.
The completed project strengthened the City of Elk Grove’s wastewater infrastructure and provides reliable conveyance capacity to support continued growth and future service demands.
