Since 2015, DirtMarket has partnered with the East Bay Regional Park District to support the transformation of Oyster Bay Regional Shoreline, a former landfill site in San Leandro, into a vibrant public recreation destination. Spanning more than 90 acres, the project includes a disc golf course, off-leash dog area, bike skills park, event spaces, service roads, and parking facilities, all built atop a carefully managed landfill cap system.

Throughout the ten-year partnership, DirtMarket managed the importation of clean fill material to increase landfill cap depth and support long-term site development. Services included soil acceptance and documentation, third-party-reviewed environmental submittals, rough grading and compaction, SWPPP implementation, stormwater sampling, landfill monitoring coordination, site security, and load tracking through proprietary software.

Working alongside environmental consultants and regulatory agencies, DirtMarket also helped develop updated soil screening criteria to support Oyster Bay’s long-term recreational use while maintaining compliance with current SF Bay RWQCB environmental standards.
