The modernization and expansion of John Barrett Middle School brought significant upgrades to the Carmichael campus. The project featured the construction of a new science building, a multipurpose room/gymnasium, and a new front office, along with the modernization of the food court, drama, band, and choir classrooms. All classroom wings were renovated, and campus improvements included a new central quad, enhanced security fencing, fully paved roads and sport courts, and updated landscaping.

Preston Pipelines provided comprehensive underground utility services to support the redevelopment, including the installation of storm drain, sanitary sewer, domestic water, and fire water systems.
