Today kicks off Construction Safety Week, and Preston is celebrating by recognizing team members who stand out for keeping safety top of mind.

First, we’re highlighting Preston Operator Larry.

1. What does the safety week theme “strong voices, safe choices” mean to you?

Strong Voices, Safe Choices means speaking up and letting others know what is right and what is wrong. Everyone knows something. It could be the guy with one year of experience or 40 years of experience….they all have an opinion and have a right to speak up if something is unsafe.

2. What do you do to ensure you’re working safely each day?

I make sure that I am wearing the proper PPE for all the tasks I will be doing each day.

3. Why is safety important in the workplace?

Safety is important in the workplace to ensure we all go home to our families each night.

4. What motivates you to work safely?

Family. My 7th grandchild was just recently born, and that’s what motivates me.

5. What does safety mean at Preston?

Safety at Preston means that we all go home safely at the end of the day.
